Description
This Remington New Model Army is a classic Civil War-era, six-shot percussion revolver. It is built on Remington's solid-frame design and has a long octagonal barrel, a under-barrel loading lever and a patent-date marking on the barrel (September 14, 1858). It is a black powder, cap-and-ball model, so it is loaded the traditional way, one chamber at a time.
Barrel Marked "W" Reciever Marked "C"
The solid top strap and sturdy frame helped make this pattern one of the best-known percussion revolvers of the 1860s. It will interest collectors of Remington history, Civil War and Old West enthusiasts, and black powder shooters who want a piece with real period character. It also makes a strong display piece.
Condition: Used. The photos show a bright, polished silver-tone finish with scattered spotting and handling marks. The wood grip has an amber patina with scuffs and wear, and the trigger guard has a brassy tone. A leather tie is knotted through the trigger guard in the photos. Please review all photos closely, as this is a vintage item with signs of age.
